Spring Time Blue Double Sided Stained Glass Tree of Life

I made this gorgeous piece from layers of copper foil carefully applied to a hand cut circle of cornflower blue streaky stained glass, and then carved out to make the tree trunk and roots. I then soldered and sculpted the silver solder layers into bark for the roots and trunk, and over-layed silver coated copper wire for branches and rootlets.
This piece is double sided. There is a different tree on each side of the glass, and the branches, trunk and roots have been sculpted in different places so that they show through the glass when the sun or a strong light shines through the piece. Each tree expresses a different mood, a different personal aspect. There is always some mystery to be discovered, and a story to be told within the piece.

I love trees, and believe the roots give life, support and ground the viewer.

These pieces are one of a kind, made only once this way and never again the same. I can make a similar one however, using the same colour and type of glass, or a different glass.

This tree is 10 inches across, and is framed in brass came. It can be hung in a window or on a wall with a light beneath it, angled to shine behind and upward. It is beautiful with or without lighting, but is spectacular with the evening sun shining through it.

This gorgeous stained glass trinket box is made from iridescent turquoise blue ripple stained glass. The Dragonfly attached to the lid appears to hover over rippling water. Detail has been added with copper wire coated in silver solder. No lead was used in the construction of this box. It is therefore food safe as well, and could be used to contain herbs, or special chocolates, as well as jewelry. The lid is attached to the box with a brass hinge. The box measures about 6″ across, and 1 1/2″ deep.

This beautiful piece would be lovely in a bathroom, on the living room table, or on your bedside table.
The box ships carefully wrapped in bubble wrap.

This lovely little bird can be hung in your window to attract friends to the bird feeder, and to keep those little bird friends from bumping their little heads on the window. The humming bird is made using iridescent glass for the wings belly and tail in the colours of the local British Columbia Rufus Humming Bird. However, I can custom design the hummingbird in any colour you wish.

Stained Glass Three Dimensional Schooner model sail boat

This beautiful entirely handmade stained glass boat features seven rich green stained glass sails and navy blue glass for the deck since it was custom made for a special wedding in Nova Scotia. I made the boat using the copper foil method, and copper pipe for the mast. It is a scale model of my own design developed from several different boats. Rigging and detail has been added using copper wire. I have cut and soldered a steering wheel/helm, boom, strut, cables, ties, rope coils, portholes for the cabin, and hatches. It even has a tiny winch attached to its anchor.
The boat is about 15″ tall, by 13″ long, by 6″ wide.

This piece can be made to order, using any colour glass, or check out my other boats for something in a different model. I make trawlers, sloops, and gaff riggers. I have also made really large schooners, but only by special order.

I have made this one of a kind beautiful green blue stained glass art disc with a lovely tree of life in silver coated copper wire that I have twisted, wrapped and soldered onto the stained glass. I love trees, and this one is made with the person in mind, as a meditation piece. I work on the tree until the branches are just right. This striking one of a kind piece is measures 5″ across.
